The title of the concert, and its overarching theme, refers to Zbigniew Herbert's famous poem Apollo i Marsjasz, which reinterprets the myth of the musical duel between the god Apollo and the satyr Marsyas. The program features premiere performances of works by six young composers, written specifically for this occasion. The event is an invitation to explore the modern sounds of the viola in various forms, including the use of electronics and new media.
