For decades, we have been sending signals into outer space, listening for a possible response. Have we ever received one? This fundamental question serves as the starting point for our musical endeavor.
Our inspiration comes from messages sent into space by humanity, such as the Arecibo Message, Voyager Golden Record, Pioneer Plaque, Lunar Plaque, and Apollo 11 Goodwill Messages, as well as concepts like the Dark Forest Hypothesis, the Fermi Paradox, and the Wow! Signal. The project is an original initiative of the Collectif4 foundation, resulting from the collaboration of six composers working closely with instrumentalists to create a multi-dimensional, immersive sound experience. Despite the diversity of styles and individual compositional approaches, our goal is for the pieces to be linked by a common narrative, creating a cohesive whole.
The project consists of 6 compositions, forming a cohesive 45-minute whole.
